The family of Ghanaian highlife icon Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has ended months of uncertainty surrounding the musician’s final resting place after unveiling details of his burial location during his one-year remembrance ceremony.

A video circulating online showed family members, including former family elder Abusuapani Tupac, carrying out traditional customs at the late singer’s graveside as part of the anniversary observance.

The family revealed that Daddy Lumba was laid to rest on a piece of land he personally selected before his passing. The location is close to his East Legon home in Accra but is separate from the residence.

During the ceremony, traditional prayers and libation were offered in memory of the legendary musician, whose influence helped shape Ghana’s highlife music industry for decades.

Daddy Lumba’s second wife, Maame Broni, also known as Odo Broni, was also present at the occasion and completed the customary process marking the end of her official widowhood period.

The family further announced the appointment of Ebenezer Fosu, a cousin of Daddy Lumba, as the temporary representative of the late musician’s legacy.

According to the family, the decision is only provisional as discussions are still ongoing to identify the appropriate person to permanently continue Daddy Lumba’s family and musical heritage.

The disclosure brings closure to widespread public curiosity over where the celebrated highlife musician was buried following his death. Daddy Lumba remains one of Ghana’s most influential musicians, with a career spanning several decades and producing numerous songs that have become classics.
