The Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), has arrested 65 individuals involved in various cybercrime activities across the country.
Addressing the media, the Acting Director General of the CSA, Mr. Devine Selasi Agbeti, stated that the joint operations form part of a broader effort to safeguard Ghana’s digital space and protect citizens from online threats.
One of the key operations took place at Dodowa Sasabi Ubuntu Estate, where 25 foreign nationals were apprehended. Authorities retrieved 40 laptops, 30 mobile phones, and an internet router used in the cyber operations.
Mr. Agbeti confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and the necessary legal and diplomatic processes for prosecution and possible repatriation are being pursued. He also revealed that some Ghanaian citizens were found to be complicit during the operations conducted on May 29, 2025.
He emphasized that the arrests highlight the growing threat of cybercrime in the country and the urgent need for continued collaboration between cybersecurity agencies and law enforcement bodies to tackle it effectively.
