The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo-Dampare, has announced a significant reduction in the crime rate in Ghana.
He attributed this positive development to the successful implementation of various programs and policies by the Police leadership.
During the commissioning of 320-bedroom apartments for Police Officers at Tesano in Accra, Dr. Dampare emphasized that the landscape of policing has evolved, leading to improved outcomes.
“We have been able to deploy policing to the doorsteps of communities which they had never seen, such that now policing has come so close to the doorsteps of the communities and members of the communities in such a way that it has affected the dynamics of crime in this country.
“Ghana has become one of the most peaceful countries in the world,” the Inspector-General of Police said.
