The Takoradi Circuit Court A has dropped all three charges levelled against the embattled Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) Abdul Mumin Issah by an inspector of the Ghana Police Service.
This was after the prosecution team led by Superintendent Stephen Billy Addum told the court that the prosecution wants the charges withdrawn.
This follows the reinstatement of the Secondi-Takoradi MCE by the President earlier this week.
Recall that President, Nana Akufo-Addo had earlier suspended the MCE for Sekondi-Takoradi, Abdul Mumin Issah for verbally assaulting a police officer.
The Local Government Minister, Dan Botwe announced the suspension in a statement on Friday, February 4, 2022.
He was also charged with careless and inconsiderate driving, and causing danger to road users.
On his first appearance in court on Friday, February 4, 2022, he pleaded not guilty and was consequently granted a GHS100,000 bail with three sureties.
However, all charges that were levelled against him have been thrown away by the Takoradi Circuit Court.
