The Agona Swedru Magistrate Court has remanded two suspects involved in the SWESBUS students incident into police custody for two weeks.
The decision was taken when the suspects were arraigned before the court, presided over by His Worship Victor Kussi.
During proceedings, the court granted bail to one of the suspects, 20-year-old Joseph Amoh, while ordering that the two others remain in police custody to assist with ongoing investigations.
According to the court, preliminary investigations revealed that Joseph Amoh was not involved in the alleged assault. Instead, he was said to have been protecting the victim from the attackers, which led to his being granted bail.
The case has been adjourned to March 11, 2026, for further hearing.
Meanwhile, some parents have appealed to the government to consider pardoning the suspects, noting that they are all Form Three students preparing for their final examinations.
