Daniel Tuffour, the prime suspect in the murder of a final-year student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has been remanded into police custody for two weeks.
Tuffour, 21, appeared before the Kumasi District Court 2 on Friday morning, where the court ordered his detention to aid ongoing investigations.
The victim, Joana Deladem Yabani, a Biological Sciences student, was found unresponsive behind the Central Laboratory on campus in the early hours of Thursday.
Tuffour was arrested after CCTV footage placed him at the scene where her body was discovered. Further investigations confirmed that he was wearing the same attire seen in the footage at the time of his arrest.
Authorities continue to investigate the case as security measures on campus are intensified.
