The Upper East Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has announced that the Bolgatanga District Court has placed an injunction on the planning and celebration of the 2025 Damba Festival in Bawku.
The court order, issued on Thursday, September 25, 2025, restrains the president and members of the 2025 Damba Festival Planning Committee from carrying out any activities related to the event.
According to REGSEC, the move is aimed at safeguarding peace and security in Bawku and its surrounding communities, where tensions have remained high in recent times.
The injunction will remain in effect until further notice.
