The Court of Appeal has dismissed Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, also known as Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng’s appeal to reverse the High Court’s decision to dismiss a Contempt case against Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Additionally, the Court has ordered the Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral to pay a fine of GHc3,000 for the unsuccessful appeal.
The panel of three judges, led by Judicial Secretary Justice Cynthia Pamela A. Koranteng, stated that the grounds of appeal did not meet the Court’s requirements.
Justices Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe and Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo were also part of the panel and agreed that the grounds of appeal were “incompetent and should be struck out.”
Before ruling on Mr. Ablakwa’s application, the panel addressed objections against the panel itself and allegations against the Chief Justice.
