Community Police assistant stabbed while attempting to arrest suspected criminal in Ajumako Besease
A Community Police Assistant stationed at Ajumako Bisease in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region is receiving medical treatment after he was allegedly stabbed while attempting to arrest a suspected criminal.
According to a report by GhOne News, the incident occurred when the officer, identified as 25-year-old Obed Fynn, responded to a disturbance in the community.
Upon arriving at the scene, Officer Fynn reportedly encountered a man known only as Yaw, who is said to be wanted by the police for alleged criminal activities in the area.
Reports indicate that during an attempt to arrest the suspect, Yaw allegedly drew a knife and stabbed the officer before fleeing the scene.
The injured officer was quickly taken to the Ajumako Bisease Polyclinic for treatment. Medical staff have confirmed that his condition is stable and he is responding well to treatment.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, who are calling on law enforcement authorities to intensify efforts to apprehend the suspect and improve security in the community.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are actively searching for the suspect, who remains at large.
