COA Healthcare Center, a subsidiary of COA Research and Manufacturing Limited Company (CRMLC), the producer of COA Mixture, recently organized a large-scale fitness health walk and free medical screening for over 500 members in Cape Coast Abeadze, located in the Central Region.
The event included nutritional guidance tips, expert medical advice, blood pressure and diabetes checks, as well as tests for HIV, blood sugar levels, and hepatitis. Participants also received free medical consultations.
The fitness walk began early on Saturday, April 27th, starting from Siwdu and ending in Abeadze. Notable figures such as Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin joined both young and old participants to educate residents on the importance of regular fitness walks and health screenings.
Following the event, Dr. James Kojo Prah, Medical Director of the University of Cape Coast Hospital and Senior Public Health Physician Specialist, emphasized the importance of regular medical check-ups for maintaining good health and early disease detection. He highlighted that diseases detected in their early stages are easier and less expensive to treat.
Dr. Prah also mentioned that during medical check-ups, health personnel can identify hidden underlying diseases and provide relevant medical assistance or advice to prevent complications.
“A lot of people only see a doctor when there is a problem. It’s easy to see the value in routine check-ups because multiple recommended services could be discussed in these visits.”
Nana Kwame Gyahene, a fitness coach at the COA Healthcare Center, emphasized the importance of regular medical check-ups in preventing future health complications. He stressed the significance of staying proactive in monitoring one’s health status.
Gyahene highlighted the quality treatment that COA has provided to its patients over the years and expressed the center’s commitment to enhancing its services. He mentioned the acquisition of modern equipment to ensure the delivery of top-notch healthcare to all patients.
In addition, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, underscored the crucial role of good health in one’s overall well-being. He voiced his support for initiatives that benefit the entire country and promote better health outcomes for all.
He advised the public especially celebrities to do regular check-ups. “Regular checks are
very important and they prevent a lot of difficult complications in the human body. “I have about 6 medical doctors who check on me anytime,” he pointed.
