Chosen Rehab Center is appealing to the government to include drug abuse education in the school curriculum to help prevent addiction among students and the youth.

According to the center, early intervention through education will equip students with the tools to resist peer pressure and understand the consequences of drug abuse.

Speaking to the media after engaging students of Kaneshie Senior High Technical School on the negative effects of drug abuse, Kwaku Gardiner, Recovery Ambassador of Chosen Rehab Center, stressed that public education on drug abuse will help Ghana save lives.

He called on the government to support Chosen Rehab Center to enable them to engage second-cycle institutions nationwide. This, he said, will help students stay away from drugs and understand the dangers involved.

Some students of Kaneshie Senior High Technical School who were sensitized on the negative effects of drug abuse also shared their views with the media.

They reiterated the importance of public education on drug abuse.

The students commended Chosen Rehab Center for the initiative, adding that it will go a long way to help them abstain from drugs.
