Nana Aggrey Poposipo, Chief of Ablekuma Joma Traditional Area, has cautioned drivers against drinking alcohol and driving during the Christmas season.
He emphasized that the meaning of Christmas is not about reckless behavior, but about doing things that bring positivity to life.
“The death of Jesus Christ has nothing to do with drinking, but to do something which will bring positive things into our life,” he said.
The chief urged drivers not to prioritize speed over human life, reminding them that “human life is very important and no one should lose his or her life in this Christmas festival.”
Nana Aggrey Poposipo made the appeal in the Ga West Municipality, Greater Accra Region, appealing to drivers to prioritize safety on the roads.
The chief’s warning comes as a reminder to drivers to exercise caution during the festive period. Drunken driving is a major cause of road accidents, and the chief’s message aims to prevent loss of life.
