The Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu has asked Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu to advise the president to reshuffle his cabinet ministers in order to make the Country move in its right direction.
According to the Minority Leader, the country is at a standstill, making life difficult due to the poor performance of President Akuffo-Addo’s Ministers.
“Ghana is at a standstill. The people are sufferings. I would like to inform the Majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu to advise President Akufo-Addo to reshuffle his cabinet ministers to make the country works again.” He stated.
He made these observations during his welcome address to members of Parliament for the first sitting of the second meeting of the second session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
The Minority Leader, however, served notice to President Akufo-Addo to act swiftly on the development of the declassification of the Achimota forest land.
“As a matter of urgency, the president should open a public enquiry into the declassification of Achimota lands and let the public know who bought what?… For what? and How much?.” He stated.
He lamented that it’s unfortunate for politicians and ministers to grab properties in the name of the state.
Mr Iddrisu indicated that the Executive instrument 144 of the forest Act 1927 issued by the government on the reclassification of the forest is outdated.
He further, argued that, per the Land and special Plan Act 926 of 2016, land zoning and reclassification mandate was not given to the president.
