Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for Afigya Kwabere South Constituency, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has once again shown strong commitment to humanitarian service by extending support to a physically challenged teenage girl at Kotwi Kyekyewere in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
Chairman COKA donated a brand-new wheelchair, school supplies, food items and cash assistance to 15-year-old Perl Ampadu Boateng, a gesture aimed at improving her mobility, education and overall well-being. The donation forms part of his recent series of charitable interventions targeted at persons with disabilities and vulnerable families in several communities.
The support package included a wheelchair to enhance the girl’s movement, as well as a school bag, water bottle, bowl and other essential learning materials to encourage her return to school as the academic year begins.
In addition, the family received food items, including bags of rice, sardines, and cooking oil, along with cash support to help cushion them against daily financial challenges.
COKA said his attention was drawn to Perl’s condition after a video highlighting her plight surfaced on social media. Moved by the situation, he decided to personally visit the family to assess their needs and offer immediate assistance.
He stressed the need for society to show love, compassion and support for persons living with disabilities, urging individuals and institutions to play their part in protecting and uplifting vulnerable members of their communities.
He further assured the family of his continued interest in the girl’s welfare and pledged to offer additional support when necessary.
Receiving the items on behalf of the family, Perl’s visibly emotional grandmother expressed profound gratitude to Chairman COKA for the timely intervention. She noted that the support would significantly improve the girl’s mobility, boost her confidence and help her continue her education.
The family also offered prayers for God’s blessings, strength and success for Chairman COKA as he continues his humanitarian efforts across the region.
