Ghanaian music star Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel, has addressed speculation surrounding the paternity of her son, Aaron Adepa Amoah.
Earlier this year, rumors circulated suggesting that the late musician Castro, who mysteriously disappeared in 2014, was the father of her child. However, Mzbel has firmly dismissed these claims.
Speaking in an interview with Max TV, the ‘16 Years’ hitmaker clarified that the last time she saw Castro was in 2013 when they joined other Ghanaian musicians to record a tribute song for the late Ronnie Coaches, a member of the legendary group Buk Bak, who passed away from a heart attack.
Mzbel stressed that she gave birth to her son long after her connection with Castro and other musicians from that era had ended.
“The last time I saw Castro was when Ronnie Coaches died, and we got together to record a tribute song. I never saw him again. I gave birth to Adepa six years after my friendship with Castro and other colleagues ended. Castro was alive when Adepa was born,” she stated.
Mzbel expressed confusion over why public figures on social media and others would assume Castro was her son’s father.
She also questioned the public’s obsession with her personal life, stating, “Why is it by force that they want to know the father of my child, all the people I know who put their relationships out on social media, it never went well for them.”
The veteran musician stressed that her relationship with her son’s biological father is a private matter and does not concern the public.
She revealed that her son, Aaron Adepa Amoah, popularly known as Komfo Black, knows his father and maintains a good relationship with him.
However, she has no intention of publicly disclosing his identity.
