Tension broke out at the Gomoa Ajumako Omahene Palace during the installation of a new Adontehene after a confrontation between traditional warriors and a prison officer.
The incident occurred when a traditional warrior fired a gunpowder bullet in the middle of the crowd, nearly injuring a woman. Despite being cautioned by a bystander to stop shooting into the crowd, the warrior ignored the warning and attempted to attack the man.
A prison officer then intervened to seize the gun, but the warrior resisted and allegedly tried to hit the officer. This sparked a heated clash between the traditional warriors and the government security personnel present at the ceremony.
