Pupils of Denkyira Atobease M/A Basic School in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region have escaped snake bites after five snakes invaded their dilapidated classroom during class hours.
The incident happened yesterday during school hours.
The snakes according to a report gathered by Oyerepa TV’s reporter, Wofa Sammy revealed that the pupils were in the classroom when they saw the snakes on top of their classroom building.
The dangerous snakes then fell from the roofing and landed on the pupils’ desks.
The teachers on duty and the pupils upon seeing the snakes quickly ran from the classroom to avoid being bitten.
They however called on some residents around who eventually killed the snakes.
According to pupils, snakes, scorpions and other dangerous reptiles mostly make their way to the school’s classrooms due to its dilapidated state.
Subsequently, teachers and pupils are now leaving in fear and panic as they are afraid snakes might bite them during teaching and learning hours.
