The Gomoa Ojobi District Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of a security guard at a One District One Factory (1D1F) project site at Gomoa Akoti in the Central Region.
According to the police, the suspects were caught after attempting to steal ECG transformer components and other materials from the factory premises. The deceased, identified as 65-year-old Alexander Kwaku Boateng, was reportedly suffocated to death while trying to prevent the robbery.
The main suspects have been named as Samuel Larbie, a 28-year-old businessman, and Wisdom Sosu, a 32-year-old motor mechanic. Two others, Nabil Mohammed and Mahmoud Kardi, are said to have stolen the deceased’s mobile phone, ECG transformer components, and other items.
As previously reported by Oyerepa News’ Nana Ansah on June 30, 2025, the security guard was found dead after being tied up by the assailants. His legs, knees, and hands were bound, and his head was covered with a polythene bag, leading to his death by suffocation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a group of six armed robbers from Fetteh Kakraba stormed the 1D1F site. They stole ECG transformer components valued at GHS 250,000 and the security guard’s Infinix Smart 8 mobile phone, worth GHS 1,800.
Meanwhile, two of the suspects remain at large, and police investigations are ongoing.
