A patient receiving treatment at the Awutu Bereku Health Centre in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region has collapsed and died in front of the town’s police station.
According to information gathered by Nana Ansah, the deceased, whose identity is yet to be established, collapsed beside a parked truck shortly after leaving the health centre to buy sachet water to drink.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to Oyerepa News’ Nana Ansah blamed the nurses at the facility for what they described as negligence, which they believe led to the patient’s death.
They alleged that when the individual collapsed, attempts were made to alert the nurses at the health centre, but no immediate response was given.
According to the witnesses, prompt intervention by both the nurses and the police could have saved the patient’s life.
