A violent confrontation between two brothers at Agona Abodom in the Agona West Municipality of the Central Region has left one person in critical condition after his left wrist was allegedly chopped off with a machete.

According to reports, the incident occurred following a heated misunderstanding between the two brothers, which escalated into a bloody fight.

The suspect, identified only as Baasi, allegedly pulled out a machete during the altercation and severed the victim’s left wrist.

The victim was rushed to a nearby health facility and is currently receiving treatment, while the suspect has been arrested by the police to assist with investigations.

Speaking on the incident, the Assemblyman for Abodom, Hon. Alex Donkoh, disclosed that the two brothers had been involved in frequent confrontations over the years, adding that another altercation broke out on Wednesday night, resulting in the unfortunate incident.

He further alleged that the suspect had previously been accused of attacking and butchering his own nephew some months ago before allegedly assaulting his brother.

According to Hon. Donkoh, both brothers are believed to be mentally ill.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
