A violent confrontation involving three Fulani herdsmen at Gomoa Kweikrom in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region has left one person dead, another in critical condition, and a third suspect at large.

The deceased, identified as 35-year-old Abdul Karim, died after being attacked with a cutlass during a dispute that escalated into violence.

According to a report gathered by Nana Ansah, the incident occurred following a heated argument among the individuals.

During the altercation, one of the men allegedly pulled out a cutlass and fatally attacked Abdul Karim.

In retaliation, another person also attacked the assailant with a cutlass, leaving him critically injured.

A third suspect reportedly fled the scene upon the arrival of the police and is currently on the run.

The injured suspect has been rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for treatment.

The Police at Gomoa Ojobi have confirmed the incident and say investigations have begun to establish the full circumstances surrounding the confrontation.

In an interview, a resident, Joseph Egyir, stated that one person died on the spot, another is in critical condition, while the third suspect escaped before police arrived.

Meanwhile, police say efforts are underway to arrest the fleeing suspect to assist with investigations.
