The Nananom of Gomoa in the Central Region have accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government of declaring the people of Gomoa its enemies, warning that they will also regard the NDC as an enemy if the situation persists.

According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council, Nana Idan IX, the government has allegedly taken sides with the people of Effutu in the ongoing land dispute and is supporting efforts to take over lands belonging to Gomoa.

Speaking to the media, Nana Idan IX said their Member of Parliament, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, had informed them that the NDC government had declared Gomoa its enemy.

He said the people of Gomoa would consequently regard the NDC as their enemy if the alleged situation continued.

Meanwhile, Nananom have issued a one-week ultimatum to the police and other security agencies to arrest a suspect they accuse of shooting and killing a man identified as Abeiku during the recent Gomoa-Effutu conflict.

The traditional authorities identified the suspect as Muzambiru, also known as Tupac, and alleged that he was involved in the killing of innocent people during the incident.

Nananom are therefore calling on the security agencies to take immediate action to arrest the suspect and ensure that he is brought before the law.
