The Minority Leader of Parliament and Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency in the Central Region, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has commissioned an ultra-modern library and community centre in Effutu to help improve the reading proficiency of children in the area.
Addressing the gathering during the commissioning ceremony, Afenyo-Markin encouraged the youth to make responsible decisions that will positively shape their future and avoid behaviours that could destroy their potential.
He emphasised the importance of hard work, discipline, and focus, urging young people to take control of their destiny and strive toward their goals. The legislator also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the youth of Effutu to become responsible and visionary leaders who can serve both Ghana and their community effectively.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Effutu, Rev. Atta Mensah, commended the initiative, noting that the establishment of the library would greatly enhance the reading skills and academic performance of children in the municipality.
He further assured that he would continue to collaborate with the MP to bring more development projects to the people of Effutu, devoid of political influence.
