The Cape Coast High Court ‘A’ presided over by His Lordship Emmanuel Lodoh on Wednesday, 18th January, 2023 pronounced the killer of renowned Cape Coast based Dancehall Artist ‘Unruly Grank’ to “death by hanging.
The sudden death Unruly Grank occurred on Sunday, 7th February 2021.
Born Emmanuel Aikins, 24, the deceased artist’s untimely death took place at the Orange Beach Resort in the Cape Coast South Constituency of the Central Region at about 3 PM.
The killer, Bright Ellis, affectionately known as ‘Shadow’ according to earlier reports stabbed the budding Dancehall Artist with a knife over an alleged music beef.
In an interview with Oyerepa reporter Wofa Sammy after the ruling, Mother to the deceased artist Madam Kate Swanzy aka “The Goal” expressing her excitement over what she termed a fair ruling noted out that, at times people should exercise patience in matters relating to court trials for proper findings to be carried out.
She unveiled that herself personally has now understood that when one is granted a bail during court proceedings, never depicts such individual to be a free man as happened in her son’s trial.
She extended her heartfelt appreciation to the case’s Attorney General Mr. Vincent Nyenaku for his unflinching cooperation throughout the court’s hearing.
The joyous mother said, the killer will by this verdict experience an eternal version of the pains she went through during the earlier stages of her son’s death.
Uncle to the deceased Dancehall Artist, Papa Annan Swanzy on the other hand eulogised the judge who through thick and thin sat over the case which lasted for two (2) solid years with undiluted sincerity.
He equally advised youth to be extremely wary of violent and murder acts, cautioning there are setout laws which are ever ready to catch-up with them.
