The family of the deceased, Joyce Ampomaa, known as Akua, 41, who was beheaded at Awutu Bentum in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region, has confirmed that a fetish priest is responsible for her killing.
According to the family, Akua had been visiting the suspect for traditional medical treatment prior to the incident.
Recall that Oyerepa News reporter Nana Ansah had earlier reported that a 25-year-old fetish priest killed a woman at Awutu Bentum, beheaded her, and mutilated parts of her body.
The family explained that on the day of the tragic event, Akua went to see the priest for the same purpose when he allegedly attacked and beheaded her.

The suspect is also alleged to have mutilated parts of her body, including her breasts, vagina, and legs.
The shocking incident has sparked fear and outrage within the community, with residents calling for swift justice.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Ansah, Akua’s father, Kwaku Yaboah, said the suspect claimed he became possessed after giving Akua the medication, after which he beheaded her.
He further explained that the suspect confessed to sending the victim’s head to his grandmother in Memphem Avado in the Volta Region and burying it.
The father is therefore calling on authorities to ensure that justice is served for his daughter.
Meanwhile, the police have reportedly launched investigations into the matter to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the killing.
