The Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition and Member of Parliament for the Gomoa West Constituency, Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah, has launched the government’s Big Push Electrification Project at Gomoa Ajumako in the Central Region.

The project is expected to extend electricity to 211 communities across the region.

Speaking at the launch, Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah assured residents that the project would be completed within six months, saying it would significantly improve access to electricity in communities across the Central Region.

He said the government remained committed to expanding electricity access across the country, adding that the Big Push Electrification Project had already commenced in four regions, including the Central Region.

Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah urged Nananom and residents of the beneficiary communities to support the contractors to ensure that the project was completed within the stipulated period.

He also warned that individuals recruited locally by the contractors who attempted to steal materials or equipment from project sites would face the full force of the law.

Speaking at the event, the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, commended the government for introducing the project to improve electricity access in communities across the region.

He urged residents to avoid land disputes with the contractors, stressing that any concerns or disagreements should be reported to Nananom for resolution to prevent unnecessary delays to the project.

Meanwhile, the President of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council, Obrempong Nyamful Krampa XI, assured the government and contractors of Nananom’s support for the successful implementation of the project.

He pledged the Traditional Council’s cooperation to ensure that the project was completed on schedule for the benefit of the people.
