The decomposing body of a woman believed to be in her twenties has been discovered at a nearby bush at Presaintease, a suburb of Dunkwa in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region.
The decomposed body of the deceased was found on Tuesday morning, March 7, 2023, while members of the community were undertaking a communal labour exercise.
A poisonous substance suspected to be a weedicide was found beside the body of the deceased. An amount of Ghc25 kept in a handkerchief was also retrieved.
Some of the community members speaking to Wofa Sammy said they believed the deceased was killed and dumped in the area by unknown men.
They also believe she was raped before her murder.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be identified but her body has been sent to the Dunkwa-Onffin government hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The Dunkwa police command has commenced investigations into the matter.
