C/R: Day-Old Baby Rescued After Mother Abandoned Him in the Bush
A day-old male baby has been rescued from a bush under shocking circumstances. The mother, identified as Victoria (34), is currently on the run, while the alleged father is demanding access to the child after being denied visitation by the Department of Social Welfare.
The incident occurred in Awutu Bereku, in the Awutu Senya West District, when residents discovered the abandoned infant in a nearby bush on Saturday.
According to eyewitness Awo Dorris, residents were drawn to the scene after hearing the baby crying. Upon arriving, they found the newborn wrapped in a piece of cloth and left unattended.

The residents quickly alerted the authorities, and the baby was transported to a nearby health facility for medical examination and care. Health officials have confirmed that the infant is responding to treatment and is currently in stable condition.
Efforts are ongoing to locate the mother, who reportedly fled following the incident.
Madam Awo, who has been caring for the newborn, stated that the alleged father, Moses Agbenyefia, demanded custody of the baby after learning about the situation. However, he was asked to complete the necessary documentation to confirm his paternity.
She added that it has been two weeks since they last heard from the Department of Social Welfare, and both she and the alleged father are concerned about the baby’s whereabouts.

According to her, the alleged father has been fulfilling his responsibilities, but the child has not been seen since Social Welfare officials took custody.
Meanwhile, the alleged father, Moses Agbenyefia, has surfaced and is demanding custody of the child. He accused the Department of Social Welfare of denying him access and maintains that he is willing and ready to take full responsibility for the baby. He is appealing to the authorities to assist him in locating his child.
