The Assemblyman for the Agona Asafo Electoral Area in the Agona East District of the Central Region is battling for his life after suspected robbers shot him multiple times during a daylight robbery attack on local shops.

According to reports, a gang of armed robbers targeted several shops in the area, terrorising vendors and bystanders.

The criminals allegedly made away with an undisclosed amount of cash representing the day’s sales from multiple businesses.

The Assemblyman for the area was reportedly shot multiple times during the robbery.

He is currently receiving treatment at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital.

An eyewitness, Bright Yaboah, told Nana Ansah that the robbers attacked the shops at around 5:00 p.m.

Police have since begun investigations into the incident, but no arrests have been made so far.
