Residents of Buokrom Estate A-Line in the Manhyia North Constituency of the Ashanti Region have threatened to stage a massive protest over the deplorable state of roads within the community.
According to the residents, ever since Buokrom Estate was created no efforts have been made to fix the roads within the community.
They said, no government has ever thought of constructing the community’s inner roads despite their participation in every polls.
Speaking to the concern residents, they lamented that, over the years, 95 percent of their votes have invariably gone to the New Patriotic Party, yet none of their MP’s from the NPP, thus Addo Kuffour, Collins Owusu Amankwaa and incumbent, Akwasi Konadu have been able to lobby for the construction of their roads just like Asawasi MP, Muntaka Mubarack has done.
Leader of the Buokrom Estate, Bonsuom concerned residents, Mr Isaac Fosuhene told Oyerepa Online that, no government has been able to fix the inner roads in the area. He revealed that, the residents themselves normally fill in the various potholes on the roads within the community.
He declared further that, there are no street lights in certain areas of the community and this has paved the way for thieves to snatching peoples bags and phones in the dark.
The residents however have given the legislator of Manhyia North constituency, Mr Akwasi Konadu up to the end of February 2022 to start the construction of the Buokrom Estate A-Line roads else they will mass up a historic protest against him and NPP government led by President Akufo –Addo.
