The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Builsa North Constituency in the Upper East Region, Mr. James Agalga, has donated streetlights and air conditioning to three SHS in his constituency.
The MP has presented 15 streetlights each to Nab Azantilow Senior High Technical School (ZANTECH) and Sandema Senior High School (SANSEC) to improve security in the schools.
Mr. Agalga also presented two BRUHM air conditioners to Wiaga Senior High School, which are to be fixed in the school’s computer laboratory.
During a short ceremony to present the items on Monday, June 10, 2024, Hon. James Agalga charged the students to focus on their education as he is determined to make critical investments in the education sector.
The MP said the air conditioning, which cost him 12,000 Ghana cedis, is to enhance the effective learning process with computers at Wiaga Senior High School since they are competing with students in other parts of the country who are enlightened and can manipulate computers.
He commended the staff and students of the schools for their efforts so far and urged them to continue putting up their best to improve quality education delivery in the municipality.
He said the southern part of Ghana has gone a long way in terms of using computers, hence the need to invest in computer literacy in schools in his constituency.
Regarding the streetlights, the MP said they would provide beautification and security to the beneficiary schools and also discourage miscreants from other areas from engaging in nefarious activities.
The donations were made in fulfillment of a promise to these schools after an appeal was made to his office by the school authorities.
The head teachers of the three senior high schools expressed their profound gratitude to the MP and asked him to continue to respond to their needs when they called on him.
