A communication consultant, Dennis Owusu Sarkodie has proposed that the Christian Council of Ghana should take charge of the construction of the national cathedral and commercialize it to their benefit.
According to him, the cathedral must not be halted but be given to the Christian council to generate funds outside the country to construct it.
“The Christian council should take over the construction of the national cathedral and make it commercial after completion to generate funds for the council,” Sarkodie stated on Oyerepa Breakfast Time.
Mr Sarkodie noted that the cathedral does not fall anywhere when it comes to the urgent needs of Ghanaians.
For this reason, the about 350 million US dollars which will be used for its construction should be used for other important projects.
He recapitulated that a lot of money has been wasted already on the edifice, so he would not advise the construction to be stopped but the Christian Council should take over.
The national cathedral is a historic edifice which aims at providing a sacred Spence and infrastructure for the formal religious activities of the nation like state funerals and presidential inaugural services.
