The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised a massive upgrade in infrastructure for the Bosomtwe District if elected to power.
He said the district would receive more hospitals, schools, improved road networks, and other social amenities, which would improve the living conditions of the people.
Addressing party faithful at the ‘Bawumia Community Connect’ event as part of his campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, the NPP flagbearer appealed to the people to vote massively for him and the NPP parliamentary candidates to continue the transformation agenda of the party.
Dr. Bawumia received a rousing welcome when he mounted the stage to address the party supporters, flanked by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah, the Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Benard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), and other party bigwigs.
“Kuntenase, I know your road is your problem, we will fix your road for you.
I know you need one astroturf here, we will bring the astroturf to you.
I know you need an upgrade of the hospital; the chief has told me about your hospital being upgraded, we will do that for you,” Dr. Bawumia assured.
“The chief has again requested a nursing training college and a district capital; we will bring you the nursing training college and fix your inner roads.”
Mr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe and Minister of Education, appealed to the people to come out in their numbers and vote on December 7.
He said a vote for the NPP would help protect the Free SHS programme and other policies of government.
“We allow ourselves to be deceived by people who say that in the Nana Akufo-Addo era, we have not seen any development in Ghana. Tell them that in Bosomtwe, we have seen massive development,” he said.
“If Bosomtwe has seen major development, what are we to say to the NPP government? What we can say to the NPP government is to vote massively for the party.”
Chairman Wuntumi, on his part, cautioned the NDC against any form of violence, adding, “We will not allow the NDC to engage in any violence with us. Call your friends to vote for the NPP come December 7, 2024.”
