The Member of Parliament for Bosome Freho Constituency in the Ashanti Region,
Hon. Akwasi Darko Boateng has offered scholarships to over 69 needy but brilliant tertiary students for the 2023–2024 academic year and also empowered some traders in his constituency.
The initiative, according to the MP, is to cushion the students to attain their academic goals and assist traders in their businesses.
He used the occasion to caution the students against social vices which have the tendencies of impacting negatively on their academic fortunes and charged them not to let him and the constituents down.
“If you really want to succeed as a young man or woman, there are certain vices you must do away with, such as drinking, smoking, etc.” He noted.
He challenged the students not to abandon their constituency but to return home after their period of study and impart the knowledge they’ve acquired in order
to help build the capacities of others.
Hon. Akwasi Darko Boateng further said over 71 traders have benefited from
his empowerment program.
He further urged the traders to make good use of the money they’ve received in order to strengthen their businesses.
