Ghanaian musician Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, popularly known as Black Sherif, has called on his fans to give his forthcoming EP, ‘Sun Sherif’, their full attention when it arrives on September 4, 2026.

The award-winning rapper and singer believes the project should be experienced beyond simply playing the songs, encouraging listeners to pay close attention to the words and allow the music to resonate with them personally.

“When they listen to the project, just open your ears and your heart. Do you get what I am saying? Soak in the lyrics and be present. Hit play and be present. Whatever you experience is for you,” he said.

Black Sherif’s remarks hint at a project rooted in personal expression and emotional storytelling, areas that have become central to his musical identity since he emerged as one of Ghana’s leading contemporary artistes.

The ‘Kwaku the Traveller’ hitmaker has continued to attract a strong following with his distinctive blend of hip-hop, highlife and emotionally charged storytelling, while earning major recognition, including two Artiste of the Year awards at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

With ‘Sun Sherif’ set to drop on September 4, fans will soon have the opportunity to discover the experiences and emotions Black Sherif has packaged into his latest body of work.
