Ghanaian highlife artiste Ronald Kwaku Dei Appiah, popularly known as Bisa Kdei, has amused fans after sharing a phone conversation with a man believed to be attempting a Mobile Money (MoMo) scam.

Rather than ending the call immediately, the award-winning musician chose to engage the caller, turning the attempted fraud into a humorous exchange that has since attracted reactions on social media.

In the video, Bisa Kdei criticised the suspected scammer’s approach, pointing out that he had already made serious mistakes that could easily expose him. According to the singer, using a phone number that begins with “023” could make it easier for law enforcement agencies to trace him. He also mocked the caller’s poor command of English, which became obvious after he incorrectly pronounced the name of Bisa Kdei’s record label, Blacklegendary Music, as “Blacklaundry.”

He said: “If you use a ‘023’ number for fraud, it will be easier to identify and arrest you. You can’t be into fraud and not speak good English. If you want to scam me successfully next time, improve upon your English.”

The conversation became even more amusing when the caller asked what Blacklegendary Music does. After Bisa Kdei explained that it is a music production company, the caller suggested that the musician must be wealthy.

Playing along, Bisa Kdei jokingly responded that the failed attempt was largely due to the caller’s poor presentation.

“We definitely have the money. If you had done it properly, we would have given you something. But unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned for you,” he added.

The caller, however, insisted that even with a better approach, the musician would still not have sent him any money, a response that left Bisa Kdei laughing.

Mobile Money fraud remains one of the most common forms of cybercrime in Ghana, with fraudsters frequently impersonating telecom officials, financial service providers or relatives in an attempt to deceive unsuspecting victims into transferring money or revealing sensitive account details.

The video has sparked laughter online while also serving as a reminder for the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent calls and never disclose personal or financial information to unknown callers.
