The leadership of Sefwi Bibiani Senior High Technical School (BISEC) in the Western North Region is making a fervent appeal to the government and corporate entities for assistance in enhancing the institution’s infrastructure and resources to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
Established in 1966, the student population of Bibiani Senior High Technical School in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality has grown to 2,589 students. The school’s strategic location on the major Bibiani-Kumasi Highway has made it a preferred choice for students from the Western North, Ashanti, Central, Western, and Ahafo Regions.
In an interview with OyerepaNews, Headmaster Mr. George Baidoo highlighted the numerous challenges confronting the school’s academic advancements, including:
– A severely deteriorated road leading to the school
– Inadequate furniture
– Insufficient accommodation for staff and students
– The pressing need for tarring of streets and the school compound
He emphasized that, despite the challenges facing the school, it has excelled academically. “As you may be aware, we always make it a point to surmount our challenges by focusing on academic excellence. We don’t let our challenges get the better part of us.
“We presented 805 candidate for the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) out of this number, 87 candidates obtained aggregate 6-9, 439 candidates obtained aggregates 10-15, 262 candidates obtained aggregates 16-24, only 17 candidates obtained aggregates 25 and above,” he added
In Summary 804 out of 805 candidates qualified for tertiary education because they obtained grades A-C6 in three core subjects and their elective subjects.
He appealed to the government and stakeholders to address urgently these critical setbacks that hinder the school’s operations.
