Beverly Afaglo, Alexx Ekubo and Daddy Lumba honoured at Ghana Movie Awards

The Ghana Movie Awards delivered one of its most emotional moments of the night with a special tribute segment dedicated to celebrated figures in Ghanaian and African entertainment.

The segment honoured Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo, Nigerian actor Alexx Ekubo, and late Ghanaian music icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, recognising their contributions and long-standing influence on the creative arts industry.

The tribute also featured gospel musician Noble Nketsiah, who joined other performers from Ghana and Nigeria in a coordinated stage performance that paid homage to the honoured personalities.

The moment created a deeply emotional atmosphere inside the auditorium, with many attendees visibly moved as the performances reflected the impact these figures have had on African entertainment over the years.

Organisers of the awards explained that the segment was designed to celebrate excellence and legacy in the industry while also strengthening unity among creatives across the continent.

“The idea is to honour those whose works have shaped the industry and inspired the next generation,” one organiser noted.

The tribute has since been widely praised by attendees and viewers online, with many describing it as one of the standout moments of the awards ceremony.
