Ghana’s favorite malt beverage, Malta Guinness Ghana is delivering on their brand promise of creating a world of good through their ‘Malta Guinness Plastic Cleanup Campaign’ in Kumasi in partnership with Premium Waste, a plastic recycling company.
The purpose of this campaign is to drive and stimulate recycling of plastic waste in various areas of the country through exciting community engagements and partnerships.
The team from Guinness Ghana engaged the people of Kaase with an exciting plastic collecting challenge.
The people of the community were divided into teams and tasked with collecting used plastic materials in the vicinity.
The team with the most plastic waste collected was crowned the winner. They were rewarded with exciting souvenirs from the Guinness Ghana team and refreshed with chilled cans of Malta Guinness.
Kaase Brewery Manager, Samuel Markin, shared his enthusiasm about the initiative and thanked members of the community for their cooperation and eagerness.
“The people of the town have been so amazing today as they all came out in energetic and high spirits to support as and pick up the plastic in the area.
Fueling a world of good is at the heart of what we do at Malta Guinness. What better way to do this than to ensure that the world we live in is clean and safe. Because of this, we have decided to engage in this Plastic recycling campaign through community sensitization and engagements to create a culture of proper waste disposal practices in Ghana.”
Also speaking at the event, Assembly Man for Kaase, Yaw Danso thanked Malta Guinness for such a laudable initiative. He added that the initiative will go a long way to reduce plastic pollution in the community and create economic empowerment opportunities for residents through plastic recycling. He urged other corporate bodies to contribute to ongoing sustainability efforts across the country.
Samuel Markin urged customers and the general public to support the initiative and take active part in the campaign.
He added, “we will be visiting different communities across the country and we look forward to working with you all to create a world of good.”
