The decision to abolish the betting tax has sparked widespread debate, with some arguing that it will not benefit the youth.
However, Skyface SDW, a member of the Asakaa music group, has expressed his excitement over the news that the tax will soon be scrapped.
The ‘Obaa Hemaa’ hitmaker stated that his opposition to the betting tax stems from the excessive percentage deducted from winnings, which he finds unreasonable.
“As a youth, I’m happy to hear that the betting tax is about to be scrapped because when you bet and you win big and they deduct the tax it’s very painful,” he remarked as MyNewsGh.com reported.
“But when you stake your bet and you don’t win, they don’t give you any refund but if we were to be given some refund we wouldn’t have any problem if they deduct us after winning.
“And besides the percentage of tax to be deducted is so huge which makes it a bit annoying because if I win 10,000 they’ll take 1,000 from it,” Skyface SDW stated in an interview.
