Singer and record producer, Bisa Kdei has welcomed the promises by former President John Mahama and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to scrap the betting tax when elected as president.
According to the multiple award-winning Highlife musician, engaging in betting is far better than being involved in criminal activities like armed robbery.
He remarked “If it were to be in the past we would say that betting is bad but for now betting helps to put money in people’s pockets.
“Betting is helping to put food on the table of a lot of the unemployed youth and they use their betting earnings to take care of the families,” he told Amansan Krakye.
“Even though with betting you win some and you lose some if it’s helping some people to make a living then let’s allow them to do it.
“Betting is way better than engaging in stealing or armed robbery because when it is removed and people don’t have a way to make a living they might engage in crime,” he said.
