Police in Begoro have launched a manhunt for a popular guest house operator, known locally as “James Bond,” who is suspected of murdering his girlfriend at the BJ Tech Guest House in Ehiamankyene, located in the Fanteakwa South District.
The victim, identified by residents as Koryo, was a well-known food vendor at the Ehiamankyene market and a familiar face within the community. Reports suggest she had a child with the suspect, though the two were not married. Her family was said to have disapproved of the relationship and kept details of it private.
The incident is believed to have occurred on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after Koryo visited the suspect at his guest house but failed to return home. Concerned family members began searching for her, and her younger brother eventually discovered her body lying in a pool of blood inside the facility. He immediately alerted their parents.
Police officers from the Begoro station arrived at the scene on Thursday evening, November 13, 2025, and retrieved the body, which has since been deposited at the Begoro Government Hospital for examination.
News of the killing sparked anger among the youth in the community. Some residents set fire to the suspect’s Apsonic GY9 motorbike and threatened to burn down the guest house.
Deputy NADMO Director for Fanteakwa South, John Kwame Narh, confirmed the incident and disclosed that the suspect has fled the area.
