The 2024 Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to embark on a nationwide tour this week to rally support from party delegates.
According to sources close to his campaign, the Vice President will engage delegates across the country, emphasising the importance of retaining him as the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
During the tour, Dr Bawumia is expected to outline his vision for Ghana’s future, highlighting his record of leadership, innovation, and commitment to national development. He will also showcase his achievements in digital transformation, economic management, and governance reforms, while pledging to lead a government focused on youth empowerment, job creation, and inclusive growth.
Dr Bawumia and his campaign team have secured the number three (3) position on the ballot paper ahead of the 2026 NPP primaries. His team, however, maintains that the ballot position is insignificant, stressing that it is his performance and proven track record that will ultimately resonate with delegates and voters.
