The Chief of Sefwi Humjibre who doubles as the Krontihene of Sefwi-Bekwai Traditional Council, Nana Kwadwo Twum II, together with Nana Kwasi Badu Mensah Abroampa, the chief of Sefwi Sukusuku and Abusumpanin Kwadwo Amoah, the overall Abusumpanin of the Ekoona family of Sefwi Sukusuku at Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Council say the immediate Paramount Chief of Sefwi Bekwai (Sefwi-Bekwa Manhene) is not their legitimate chief.
According to the kingmakers, they don’t recognize Basape Kwadwo Armah III, who is styling himself as the Omanhene of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Council.
Abusumpanin Kwadwo Amoah in a presser told the press that, Mr Kofi Manu, popularly known and called Nana Kwadwo Armah III is not the rightful candidate from the deserving royal gate but rather Nana Danso Asare.
He stressed that “We the kingmakers have not Enstooled Basape Kwadwo Armah III, the Paramount Chief of Sefwi-Bekwai, the legetimate and preferred candidate is Nana Danso Asare.
The America man (Basape Kwadwo Armah III) used soldiers and police to intimidate us and snatched the stool from us.”
The king makers further said Sefwi Bekwai and its environs have never had peace and unity ever since he used dubious ways to install himself the Omanhene of Sefwi-Bekwai.
“We are therefore appealing to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Minister for Chieftaincy to quickly ensure that lawyer is sent to the Western North Regional House of Chiefs to facilitate the hearing of cases to enable them address these Chieftaincy Issues at Sefwi Bekwai for a peaceful core-existence.”
