A 30-year-old Uber driver, Kwadwo Antwi, is recovering after being attacked with a machete by a passenger at Barekese in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
Antwi is said to have picked up the passenger from Abrepo Junction in Kumasi and was heading toward Barekese when the suspect suddenly attacked him with a cutlass.
According to the victim’s father, Master Alex, the assailant slashed his son’s hand and lap before pushing him out of the vehicle. The suspect then fled with the Toyota Vitz Antwi was driving, registered AS 7104-22.
“My son didn’t die and is responding to treatment, but police are investigating to arrest the suspect,” Master Alex said.
The incident has since been reported to police, who are pursuing the attacker.
