“Baba, your sons – Stonebwoy and Sarkodie – are fighting” – Captain Planet tells Mahama
Ghanaian musician Okomfour Kwame Asare, popularly known as Captain Planet, has jokingly called on President John Dramani Mahama to intervene in the escalating disagreement between dancehall star Livingstone Etse Satekla, known as Stonebwoy, and rapper Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie.
Captain Planet made the playful appeal in a post on X on September 10, 2026, apparently using the ongoing controversy between the two musicians to promote his upcoming song, ‘Fulani’, scheduled for release on September 16.
Addressing President Mahama as the father of the nation, Captain Planet wrote: “Mr President @JDMahama. Father for all, Baba I dey greet you oo. Baba, your sons are fighting @sarkodie & @stonebwoy. Baba, kindly call them and resolve this issue amicably.”
He added: “Baba, I get 1 kind song I dey come release on the 16/09/26. Title be #Fulani, and I don’t want hear any drama on that day because agenda boys are not ready to extinguish fire.”
Captain Planet also injected humour into the already-famous ‘jollof’ aspect of the dispute, which surfaced after Stonebwoy recounted an occasion when Sarkodie visited his house and ate jollof.
Taking the matter a step further, he told Mahama: “Baba, the problem be say Sarkodie go eat jollof for Stonebwoy e house wey he no acknowledge the cooker. Sarkodie say e be Dr Louisa wey she cook the jollof, but Stonebwoy too say e be he personally cook the jollof.”
The comments come amid a fresh war of words between Stonebwoy and Sarkodie, with both camps offering competing accounts of past interactions and collaborations.
Rather than taking sides, Captain Planet has turned the dispute into comic relief, while cheekily asking the President to settle the ‘beef’ before his new song arrives.
