The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon in the Greater Accra Region Madam Lydia Seyram Alhassan in collaboration with Ghana Gas company has on Friday, October 20, 2023, commissioned a fully furnished 6-unit classroom block for University Staff Basic school in the Ayawaso West District.
The (6) six-unit classroom block with an office, a store room, ICT room with 50 computers was an initiative by the MP, and fully supported by the Ghana Gas company to aid the transformation of education in the community.
According to MP, it is aimed at creating a conducive teaching and learning environment for both teachers and students so that they can concentrate on their studies.
The school has been battling with serious infrastructural challenges and ICT room for several years and this has forced the school authority to call on MP for support.
Madam Lydia Alhassan commended Ghana Gas for continuing to partner with her to address the infrastructural challenges facing the schools in her constituency.
She further urged headteachers and teachers within the Ayawaso West District to increase their commitment towards handling the pupils under their care in the district and also tasked them to maintain the projects.
Mr Samuel Asafo Adjei Senior Officer , Ghana Gas Company urged the community members and the school authority to strive hard to maintain the facility for the benefit of the students and the community as a whole.
He said the Ghana Gas Company would continue to partner with the MP to provide the necessary development for the people of Ayawaso West Wuogon District.
