The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Awutu Senya West, Kalala Eghan, has announced that the Assembly will establish a Sanitation Taskforce to enforce proper sanitation and maintain cleanliness across the district.
Speaking to Oyerepa News Reporter, Nana Ansah, after the Assembly cleared a long-standing heap of rubbish at the Awutu Bereku Zongo community, Eghan stressed the importance of sustaining the gains made through effective monitoring and enforcement.
He further revealed that the district is endowed with several interesting sites that have the potential to serve as tourist attractions.
According to him, both the Assembly and the Members of Parliament are committed to developing these sites. Still, residents must also play their part by keeping the district clean to attract visitors.
The DCE also disclosed that the Assembly has begun reshaping deplorable roads in the district, starting with the stretch from Awutu Bereku to Bontrase.
He noted that the reshaping exercise will be carried out every three months to ensure the roads remain motorable for drivers and residents.
