Multiple-award-winning Gospel artiste Diana Hamilton is set to serve patrons with spirit-filled performance at this year’s ‘Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton’ in Accra and Kumasi on February 19 and 26 respectively.
The launch of this year’s much-publicised event took place at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra on Monday, January 16,2023.
Artistes billed for the February 19 event which will be hosted at the Perez Dome, Dzorwulu, Accra, include Ohemaa Mercy, Perez Musik, Joe Mettle, Celestine Donkor and Bernice Panford.
A repeat of the show will come off at Church of Pentecost, Bantama, Kumasi and it will have artists such as Moses OK, Ceccy Twum, ACP Kofi Sarpong, and Piesie Esther mount the stage.
When the floor was opened for journalists to ask questions, the celebrated gospel songstress in the presence of the immediate past Chairman of the church of Pentecost, Prof Opoku Onyinah and other clergies was asked why secular musicians like Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy were not billed to perform.
In response, Diana Hamilton said all the artists she has billed are unique in their own ways and that they are artists she personally enjoy listening to hence “I am very happy I have them to support me. She explained further that she is not preventing any artist from coming to support her.
The ‘Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton’ is a gospel musical concert that started in 2014 in London with Ghana hosting its first edition in 2016.
