One man suspected to be a fake military man has been arrested by the Ghana Police in the proceedings of the Assin North Bye-election.
The suspected fake soldier was arrested in the early hours of the poll at the Methodist Park polling station in Breku, the hometown of both NDC and NPP parliamentary aspirants.
The supposed military man was arrested for being dressed in military uniform despite the military’s non-involvement in the bye-election. As soon as the young man was captured in the military fatigue the police quickly apprehended him.
Some voters at the polling station alleged that the fake military man is a known NPP member who deliberately dressed in uniform to cause mayhem.
One other person was also arrested at the venue for taking photos of his vote cast.
Police at the scene who spoke to the press said, they were able to control the charged voters at the polling station.
The culprits are currently in police custody.
